Welcome to Imani Church;

Imani Family Church is a non-denominational, Spirit-led, Bible-based church with a truly international perspective. Located in West Des Moines, Iowa, we are blessed to have worshippers from diverse nations, including the United States, Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Cameroon, Uganda, South Africa, Sudan, South Sudan, Liberia, Rwanda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic, and Ivory Coast. It is amazing to see how the Spirit of God has brought His children together to function as the body of Christ.

At Imani, we offer various departments where people serve alongside one another, regardless of nationality. Our congregation includes a broad demographic of students ranging from elementary to college age, as well as a considerable number of children. One of the remarkable aspects of our community is that everyone feels welcomed and valued; we are committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, as we believe that no one should ever feel like a statistic in the body of Christ.

We are actively involved in mission-oriented activities within our community and support missionaries in their work globally. We believe that God has called His servants all over the world, and sometimes we need to partner with them to reach those we cannot, while also welcoming support for our mission.

Our student ministry has flourished, and we are incredibly grateful for its growth in both numbers and impact. Launched in the summer of 2015 with just a handful of students, “Momentum” has become one of the most powerful ministries at Imani, touching hundreds with a vibrant youth worship band and impactful annual Momentum conferences. These conferences now attract students from various states and have transformed many lives as they deepen their walk with Jesus.

Among our flagship outreach initiatives is the “Taste of Imani,” an event where we invite our community to experience the Gospel through diverse cultural expressions. Attendees can enjoy food from over 15 nations represented at Imani, along with international gospel music, dance, and presentations. This event also serves as an opportunity to share information about ministry opportunities and connect with different cultures right here at Imani.

We also offer empowerment programs designed for married couples, singles, newcomers, and those seeking a healthy lifestyle. Above all, we continue to witness broken individuals responding to the good news of Jesus Christ, surrendering their lives to Him as their personal Savior. We have witnessed countless miracles, and we pray for even more.

At Imani, we cherish our diversity as a God-given gift, as people from various nations and walks of life unite for one common purpose: to connect, worship God, and spread His Word. Since Imani is home to 15 different nations, we conduct our services in English to promote understanding and unity.

Whether you reside in Des Moines or are visiting for a short time, we warmly invite you to worship with us.

God Bless,

Rev. Joshua and Margareth Kyande
